I am the same of those gay men who raise Brokeback Mountain and the soundtrack to be sagacious beautiful, and sad beyond words. Willie Nelson's shroud of "Cowboys Are Frequently, privately (Fond of Each Other)" [Big Gay Following, March 28] contains, among other offensive lines, this gem: "Inside each cowboy there's a lady who'd delight in to slip out." One of the points that the film makes is that principally of us are not effeminate, nor do we have any desire to be women Nor does delight in and sex between two men usually have anything with hetero role-playing. Nelson's carol cheapens the love of men for men

by dint of the way, there are a certain truly haunting and beautiful lays on the Brokeback soundtrack. I think Nelson's version of "He Was a Friend of Mine" is brilliant. Too bad he couldn't hold fast it up.
