Thank you for your coverage of the looks Altos [Calif.] High School gay-straight alliance [Cros fatherland March 28]. Our GSA's plight, however, is not done. For the last three years, we have gone before the city council to ask for a Pride Day proclamation. The first year the council vot it down (3-2) At the nearest meeting the community came not at home in support and spoke along with the pupils The council changed their minds and granted us the first Gay Pride Day proclamation. Last year we were number 32 forward the council's agenda; we were called on the subject of at 11:15 P.M. The suffrage was against the proclamation 3-1 This year the council said no proclamations dealing with sexual orientation, specifically Pride Day. However, Mayor Ron Packard was quot in succession a news station that we can have a parade. with equal reason guess what? We are having the first looks Altos Gay Pride Day June 4 at noon. Many population are working on it. Plus a documentary will be made this year and perhaps a part or movie. All this through a piece of paper that a GSA asked for to help their city with awareness.
