I write this in answer to your article on Nathan Christoffersen ["What Would Nathan Do?" March 28] My father and Al Christoffersen are business partners in Madera [Calif.]. I knew of Nathan by the and of my dad in passing conversation. I not at any time met Nate, and this is a compunction My regret is that I didn't reach without to him, giving him the dialect I gave myself at the age of 28--that we hurry after our parents' approval, sometimes to the point that it use ups us and we hurt ourselves physically by the agency of drugs or spiritually with our walk with lord We all reach a decisive age when we long for or omit the teachings of our parents. This is in pursuit of fulfilling our individuality. I find it remarkably sad that Nate had not reached that point in his life to live his life with his confess acceptance and not that of his parents. We regard with affection our parents but need to remind ourselves they are individuals too. Realizing that especially with family, you have to fight for your individuality constantly. And for us as a gay community, to support and reach revealed to one another. A hard scolding for me, for Nate's family, and all who knew this beautiful soul
